It is good to set your niche area when you start.

Clients have specific needs rather than general.

Here, I would share an example. Let us say you had a rare form of heart disease. Will you go to a general physician or a specialized doctor? I hope this never happens to you but did you get the crux?

A similar case happens in the coaching industry. If you are more specific to your clients, you can serve them well and get paid.

I would like to share it using some of the examples which involve my client’s experiences.

A guy named Tad had a unique approach to marketing. He tried to help businesses which failed due to unsteady customers. Thus, for him to become a successful coach, it was essential to develop his skills in the marketing niche.

Another case is of a lady named Jenny. She was inquisitive to find out about people in difficult relationships. The struggle was people do not look for a coach in such situations. For example, I had a frustrated client. If I would have shown him too much sympathy, the conversation would turn less effective.

Will I be able to consult him?

No, because I am trying to experience the same emotions. Rather, I kept it logical and kept emotions detached from his feelings. I kept all my bias out of coaching.

You can begin by identifying the areas where you are becoming biased. With time you develop the skill to become more logical.

What do they want to do? How different the task is? How challenging it is?

I have met such coaches and it was thrilling to see their confidence. They had bigger dreams. Hence, I learned that you need to keep on dreaming as that is when you are motivated. Imagine the line of clients waiting at your office door.

Do not fear the negative consequences. Do you think you can end them? No. Think positive like the feedback you received on your various achievements. This works as a motivation factor. They keep on inspiring clients to improve performance.

Sorry but this may not be seen always. It may happen that the client will approach when you have least expected it. Hence, what are the options in such urgency?

You may have to do a video call or have a meeting at a client’s place. Hence, that is when flexibility is crucial.
